Olivia Van Oot
Olivia Van Oot is a woodworker and painter based in Portland, Maine. She currently attends Maine College of Art & Design and is completing her Bachelors in Fine Arts in the Woodworking and Furniture Design program. Most of her work is centered around themes of comfort and home; these feelings are conveyed through her use of quilt imagery and traditional pieced quilt patterns created using a variety of different wood veneers with a parquery technique. These quilt panels are then either framed, or incorporated into larger, more complex works such as furniture or cabinets. Van Oot’s work has been displayed in galleries in and around Portland Maine.
